New Delhi, 19th Feb: National Investigation Agency, Guwahati has filed Supplementary Charge Sheet before the Special NIA Court- Assam. In Biswanath Chariali Police Station FIR registered against Ananta Swagiary according to IPC r/w sections16(1)(a), 18 & 20 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act as amended and section 25(1-B)(a) Arms Act 1959. Under IPC r/w sections16(1)(a), 18 &20 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 as amended and Section 25(1-B)(a) Arms Act 1959 Case registered against Gojen Narzary and under IPC u/s 120B, 302 & 307 of IPC r/w sections18&20 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 case registered against Julius Basumatary.
All the charged sheeted accused persons were hard-core members of banned terrorist organization, National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Songbijit faction) and they had active role in the terrorist attack.
The case was registered after the horrifying terrorist attack on 23 Dec 2014 by NDFB(S) militants upon innocent people of Adivasi/Santhal community at Sonajuli village under Biswanath Chariali Police Station, Assam, resulting in death of 30 villagers including women and children and injuring four others. The killings and injuries resulted from indiscriminate firing with sophisticated weapons. The National Investigation Agency during the course of investigation has been able to collect evidences on the basis of field investigation as well as technical and forensic evidences, which have been made use of in the chargesheet submitted in the NIA, Special Court, Guwahati.
The NIA has opted to continue further investigation of the case, since certain hard-core NDFB(S) cadres are yet to be apprehended.
